New Music Friday - The High Note with Shaun Smith

Just like a record skipping, it’s New Music Friday once again, this time for Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, 2024. We know we are in store for six more weeks of fresh music, so why not celebrate the early coming of spring with some new music.

J Mascis of the legendary band Dinosaur Jr. is back with “What Do We Do Now,” offering his signature guitar-laden narratives that tug at the heartstrings of indie rock enthusiasts.

In an extraordinary posthumous release, we pay homage to the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry with “King Perry,” a testament to his unparalleled influence in the world of reggae and beyond.

Also, don’t miss the latest collaboration between Hit-Boy and Alchemist, “THEODORE & ANDRE,” showcasing a powerhouse of my favorite hip-hop producer with some keen lyrical prowess.

As always, the entire list of new albums released today, Friday, February 2, 2024 is below in no particular order. Let me know what you’re listening to in the comments below and on social media @highnoteblog
