Welcome to New Music Friday! October has been an incredible month for releases, and this week continues that momentum with a massive collection of new albums spanning every genre imaginable. From indie darlings to metal masters, there’s truly something for everyone dropping today.
Leading the charge this week is @’s “Autosmile,” a genre-bending exploration that pushes experimental pop into thrilling new territory. The Avalanches return with “No Bad Memories,” delivering their signature sample-based magic with what promises to be their most emotionally resonant work yet. Fontaines D.C. dive deep into post-punk evolution with “Dopamine Chamber,” an album that captures the restless energy of modern anxiety with razor-sharp precision. Sophia Stel boldly stakes her claim with “The Greatest Album of All Time,” a title that’s either supremely confident or delightfully ironic depending on how you spin it. Andy Grammer gets vulnerable on “Big Stupid Heart,” showcasing a more introspective side while maintaining his gift for infectious melodies.
As always, the entire list of new albums released today, Friday, Oct. 16, 2026 is below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.
