New Music Friday on The High Note

With a short week thanks to the Fourth of July, New Music Friday is already here for Friday, July 7, 2023.

First up, Aluna is setting the tone with the experimental and ethereal beats on “MYCELiUM.” Grouplove captures a big summer sound with its latest “I Want It All Right Now,” and Little Dragon tenderly serenades us with “Slugs of Love.”

Local Natives slow things down with its harmonious narratives on “Time Will Wait for No One,” while PJ Harvey brings her trademark raw lyricism to “I Inside the Old Year Dying.”

Chicago rockers Lifeguard maintains the summer vibes with their upbeat surf-rock on “Dressed In Trenches,” and Julie Byrne delivers introspective folk masterpieces in “The Greater Wings.”

As always, the entire list of new albums released today, Friday, July 7, 2023 is below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.

Let me know what you’re listening to in the comments below and on social media @highnoteblog
