L’Rain delivers the mesmerizing “Fata Morgana,” a sprawling experimental work that pushes the boundaries of ambient pop into uncharted territory. Hovvdy’s “Big World” offers the Austin duo’s most ambitious and emotionally resonant collection of indie folk songs to date. Jungle brings the heat with “Sunshine,” a groove-heavy funk odyssey that’s impossible to sit still to. Phoebe Bridgers returns with “Lost Weekend,” a haunting and introspective collection that finds the indie icon at her most vulnerable. Getdown Services makes waves with “Massive Champion,” a bold statement of genre-defying electronic soul.
