The High Note

Well everyone, we’ve made it into January 2021 together and who doesn’t want a little music to help ease us into the New Year.

Just in case you didn’t see it during the holiday break, I complied a list of my 20 favorite albums of 2020.

First, an album that was released on what would have been Justin Townes Earle’s 39th birthday by his father, Steve Earle, recording a tribute to his son in “J.T.”

Also, in an album that is a surprise sleeper hit, Barry Gibb revisits songs from the Bee Gees with a country twang on his duets album “Greenfields,” and supergroup “The Circle” has been productive during quarantine and created “Lockdown 2020.”

As always, the entire list of albums released today, Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, is below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.
