New Music Friday - The High Note with Shaun Smith

Welcome to the first New Music Friday for March with all the new albums released today, Friday, March 7, 2025.

This week’s lineup features an eclectic mix of releases that span genres and moods, from introspective ballads to raucous rock anthems.

Kicking things off is Hamilton Leithauser’s “This Side of the Island,” offering his signature heartfelt lyricism wrapped in an irresistible indie rock vibe.

Jason Isbell, always a master at weaving storytelling into his music, returns with “Foxes in the Snow,” delivering his soulful blend of Americana.

Sasami’s “Blood on the Silver Screen” brings a cinematic feel with its dreamy and melancholic tones.

Benmont Tench, known for his work with Tom Petty, delivers the poignant “The Melancholy Season.”

Rounding out the list is Annie DiRusso, whose “Super Pedestrian” channels introspection with a raw and vulnerable edge.

As always, the entire list of new releases is below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.

Let me know what you’re listening to in the comments below and on social media @highnoteblog.
