Welcome to New Music Friday! May 29, 2026 brings an absolutely stacked lineup of releases that’ll have you updating your playlists all weekend long.
Boards of Canada return with “Inferno”, their first new material in years, delivering the lush, nostalgic soundscapes fans have been craving.
Guided by Voices continue their prolific streak with “Crawlspace of the Pantheon”, another collection of Robert Pollard’s unmistakable lo-fi brilliance.
Danish post-punk outfit Iceage explores darker, more atmospheric territory on “For Love of Grace & the Hereafter”, showcasing their evolution into one of rock’s most compelling acts.
Philadelphia’s own Kurt Vile pays homage to his hometown with “Philadelphia’s Been Good to Me”, a warm and introspective journey through the city’s musical soul.
And in perhaps the biggest release of the week, Sir Paul McCartney delivers “The Boys of Dungeon Lane”, proving once again why he remains one of music’s most vital creative forces.
As always, the entire list of new albums released today, Friday, May 29, 2026 is below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.
