New Music Friday on The High Note

Summer is slowly coming to a close but that’s no reason to be sad, The High Note is here to celebrate all the new albums released each week for New Music Friday.

This week, two collaborations are at the top of my list – producer Danger Mouse and Roots frontman Black Thought team up for “Cheat Codes,” and electronic music pioneer Sonic Boom collaborates with Animal Collective co-founder Panda Bear for “Reset.”

Early 2000s hardcore band Norma Jean, which has none of its band members from when I listened to them, is back with “Deathrattle Sing for Me,” and movie score composer Danny Elfman is out with “Bigger.Messier.”

TikTok sensation “Bella Poarch” is out with her debut “Dolls,” and lastly the Buffalo, New York alternative rock stalwarts Goo Goo Dolls are out with “Chaos in Bloom.”

As always, all the new albums released today – Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 are below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.

Let me know what you’re listening to on social media @highnoteblog and in the comments below.
