Welcome to October, readers of The High Note. We made it here together and now we’re dropping heavy beats, maybe throwing up peace signs or middle fingers in the air, or both, depending on your mood and your station. Nevertheless, we have business here on Friday before we can kick back and enjoy the weekend.
Each New Music Friday amazes me and this week’s list of new albums is no different. There are new albums by Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour as well as Dawes, Bon Jovi, 21 Savage, Aloe Blacc, YG, Mxmtoon, Born Ruffians, Drive-By Truckers and a surprise release from Laura Jane Grace of Against Me. Wow, what a diverse group of artists.
Of course, that’s not all. Every Friday so many albums are released and I do my best to collect what looks like to be the best list of albums I can find. It includes a bunch of bands that I have never heard of, but maybe you have, or you will soon.
