New Music Friday is back in a big way to start off the second week of 2022 with lots of incredible new albums released Jan. 14, 2022 and The High Note is here to fill your ears with warm sounds.
First up is one of my favorite electronic artists, Bonobo, who is out with their latest album, “Fragments.”
In the rock realm, I’m starting with New Jersey band Garcia Peoples, out with an album that hits close to home this time of year, “Dogging Dues.” I’m also checking out “Covers” by Cat Power and “The Boy Named If” by classic rocker Elvis Costello and The Imposters.
I love folk and that includes two of my favorite bands, The Lumineers, out with “Brightside,” The Punch Brothers out with “Hell On Church Street” and singer-songwriter Grace Cummings is out with “Storm Queen.”
For the hip-hop fans, don’t sleep on Earl Sweatshirt’s latest “Sick!” and “Me vs. Me” by NLE Choppa.
If you’re into pop music, I’m pointing you to FKA Twigs’ “Caprisongs,” and “Are We Gonna Be Alright?” by Fickle Friends.
As always, all the new albums released today, Friday, January 14, 2022, are below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold.
