New Music Friday on The High Note

We’re on the cusp of spring and instead of canceling our celebration like Rita’s Water Ice, you can plug some fresh tunes in your ears from home or wherever you are for New Music Friday.

There is something warming about country music, and since Friday, March 19 is a day away from the first day of spring, I feel some serious heat from Loretta Lynn’s latest album “Still Woman Enough.”

I’m also stoked about the new album collaboration from Benny the Butcher and Harry Fraud “The Plugs I Met 2,” and speaking of collaborations Owen Pallett and Arcade Fire teamed up for the original score for “Her.”

Jazz pianist and melodica player Jon Batiste, probably best known now for leading ” The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” band has a fantastic new album “We Are.”

I’m also digging the electronic sounds of Vegan and the new albums from the Irish rock band Middle Kids and Lana Del Rey.

All of my picks for best new albums released today – Friday, March 19, 2021, are below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold. Let me know what you’re listening to in the comments below and on social media.
