New Music Friday on The High Note

I love waking up to the smell of fresh music on Friday mornings. My ritual is to rise early and crack open the internet vault of new music releases, then I start digging until I hit bottom and produce a list for New Music Friday.

The rap game is strong this week with new releases from Nas and Hobo Johnson, both are very high on my list.

Long Island, New York singer-songwriter Laura Stevenson is out with her latest self-titled album and don’t sleep on “Harmonizer,” the latest project from Ty Segall.

I’m not really a fan of remixes in most cases, but I’m such a fan of Khruangbin and the album “Mordechai,” that the remixes released today are definitely getting some rotations.

As always, the entire list of new music released Friday, Aug. 6, 2021 is below in no particular order. My most anticipated albums are in bold. Let me know what you’re listening to in the comments below or on social media @highnoteblog.
